Science beyond the lab
We believe research should speak to more than specialists. Here are some of the ways we have tried to bring microbial evolution to broader audiences.
A comic book about phages
We collaborated with a comic book artist, Paweł Piechnik, to create an illustrated story about bacteriophages and why they are important for the society. The comic is aimed at everyone and no biology background is required. We hope you like it! Available in Polish and English.
Rafal's appearance on "OFF Czarek"
On 25 March, Rafal was a guest on the OFF Czarek programme on Radio TOK FM. The discussion explored ancient bacteria as a source of new antibiotics and the ongoing molecular “arms race” between bacteria and viruses, highlighting their potential for future biotechnology and infection control. The full interview can be accessed as a podcast here.
Short film about phages
In collaboration with the Jagiellonian University Centre for Community Relations, we created a short video to illustrate what bacteriophages (phages) are and why we are studying them. Watch the film on Youtube:
