Interested in joining us?
The Microbial Genomics group is now growing! We have just finished recruiting for a postdoc position (see the original ad here), but we are always interested to have talented people join us.
Postdocs & Fellows
If you are looking for a postdoc, you should already have some independent ideas for your research (at least at the preliminary stage). If you think our group is a good fit for you, please get in touch with us and tell us why. We can then devise a plan for you to apply for semi-independent grants and fellowships for you to join us. If you’re already thinking about applying for one, even better! Alternatively, please wait for new positions being advertised on our website.
Regardless of whether you’re interested in academic or industrial career path down the line, it is always a good idea to apply for independent funding. Here are some schemes for independent postdoctoral funding schemes to pursue research in Poland:
Polish National Agency of Academic Exchange
NAWA is a newly founded Polish agency. They have recently announced the ULAM Programme, which is aimed at international (non-Polish) researchers with a PhD degree who want to pursue a postdoctoral fellowship in Poland.
European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO)
The EMBO offer both short-term and long-term postdoctoral fellowships (see here) to prospective candidates in life sciences who are interested in moving to another country.
The European Commission is offering 2-year, prestigious, mobility-based postdoctoral fellowships. The scheme is quite competitive, but the salary is too!
National Science Centre Poland
There are several postdoctoral schemes available from the principal science council, the National Science Centre (NCN): Sonatina (very early career researchers) and Sonata (early career researchers). Take a look at their website to learn more (if you can).
Talented and hard-working students are always welcome to get in touch with us. Please, have a look at what we do first and then write a short paragraph why you’d like to join our group in particular.
